The 1993-94 UMC Hockey Team claimed the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Championship for a second consecutive year. With many returnees from the 1992-93 hockey team, this group of talented hockey players went on to earn the national title. They were undefeated in their season, finishing with a 26-0-1 record. With Head Coach Scott Oliver at the helm, they defeated Erie Community College of New York, Hibbing Community College, and NDSU Bottineau for the national NJCAA title at the national tournament in Bottineau, North Dakota. They outscored their opponents 36 to 5 in a round robin tournament format to win the title.

Assisting Coach Oliver were Paul Marturano, Bob Clauson, and Mike Andringa. The team was laden with a great deal of talent and spirit led by captains Ken Essay, Jeff Malawski, Chris Turner, and Scott Gruber. Named to the All-American team were Nathan Pitt, Bill Trew, Jeff Malawski, and Ken Essay. Crookston team members were Eric Berg, Mike Peterson, and Steve Sims. Current Grand Forks residents, Tom Alderson and Nathan Bartuska were also members of the team. Manitoba was well represented with 15 team members.
