Hall of Fame
From 1972-1976 Deryl Ramey served as head track and football coach at UMC as well as athletic director. He was named Coach of the Year in 1973, when his football team was undefeated and ended the season first in the state and fourth in the nation. He went on to receive Coach of the Year honors in 1974 and 1975 as he led his teams to first place finishes in the Northern Conference. His overall record at UMC was 28-7.
Ramey coached and taught at Willmar Public Schools from 1978 until 2003, when he retired. He and his wife, Nancy, currently reside in Willmar.
