Minnesota Crookston (15-26, 3-11 NSIC)
The Golden Eagles are back on the road, heading to Sioux Falls for the second time this season. This time, to take on the NSIC's top team, the Augustana Vikings. It's no secret this matchup has historically been a tough one for the Golden Eagles, who are still searching for their first win against the Vikings. The Maroon and Gold currently sit 13th in the NSIC standings with a 15-26 overall record, collecting just three wins in conference play. However, the team is coming off a 4-2 win over Bemidji State on Wednesday.

Freshman Hannah Trzinski (Fr., P/1B, Stevens Point, Wis.) continues to power the Golden Eagles' offense. She leads the team with a .337 batting average, 33 hits, and 17 RBIs. Fellow freshman Chayse Doering (Fr., OF, Shakopee, Minn.) has also been consistent, hitting .299 with 29 hits in 97 at-bats. Doering played a key role in the win over the Beavers, going a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate and scoring two runs. Rayna French (So., C/OF, La Salle, Manitoba) and Whitnee Curry (Sr., MIF, Lincoln, Neb.) have provided depth to the lineup, each hitting 284. Curry had a standout series against Bemidji State, going 2-for-4 in game one and 2-for-3 in game two. Irelyn Spencer (R-So., IF, Rapid City, S.D.) has added production at the plate with 15 RBIs this season.

In the circle, the Golden Eagles have utilized a deep pitching staff, with nine different players seeing time this season. Leading the way is freshman Delaney Penner (Fr., P, Winkler, Manitoba), who has thrown 55.2 innings and holds a team-best 5-5 record. Junior Alexa Guilford (P, Crystal City, Manitoba) has been another dependable arm, posting a 2.02 ERA across 41 innings. Guilford earned her first complete game in the win over Bemidji State, allowing just two runs on six hits in a dominant performance.

Augustana Vikings (33-9, 15-3 NSIC)
Augustana comes into the matchup hot, sitting at 33-9 overall and 15-3 in conference play. Their only NSIC losses came in late March to St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth. The Vikings are ranked 14th nationally, according to the Top 25 Coaches Poll.

Offensively, the Vikings are one of the most dangerous teams in the conference, hitting .305 as a team, good for third in the NSIC. The Vikings have five hitters hitting over .318, led by sophomore Desi Cuevas. Cuevas is batting .379 with 50 hits, nine home runs, and 33 RBIs, placing her among the top 10 in several NSIC offensive categories. Right behind her is Andrea Cain, who's also been making headlines. The junior is hitting .365 and was recently named NSIC Player of the Week after going 12-for-19 (.632) over the weekend. She scored 11 runs, drew four walks, drove in three, and added two doubles and a homer over the past weekend.

In the circle, the Vikings have leaned on a solid one-two punch in Grace Glanzer and Lexi Lander. Glanzer has thrown 143.2 innings, holding a 1.27 ERA with 16 wins, ranking first in the NSIC and 16th nationally. Lander isn't far behind, ranking fifth in the conference and 35th nationally with a 1.65 ERA over 95 innings. She's coming off an NSIC Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 in three appearances, allowing just a 1.47 ERA and holding the opposing team to just a .145 batting average over 14.1 innings.

Wayne State College Wildcats (23-16, 8-7 NSIC)
Minnesota Crookston softball will head to the "Cornhusker State" to face the Wildcats for a double header at the Pete Chapman Softball Complex, in Wayne Neb., on Sunday, April 13th.
The Wildcats will look to get back to winning ways as they currently sit on a four games losing streak.
The Wildcats have a few power hitters from a mix of all age classes. Emilee Marth is averaging .348 with 40 hits and 21 runs. Young gun, Leah Chance, is fitting right in with a .325 batting average and a team leading 28 runs.
With 10 complete games, Kennadi Borngrebe (R-Fr., Omaha, Neb.), seems to have been the Wildcats ace this year with a 1.59 ERA in 101 innings pitched with 130 strikeouts. Their crew leader, Samantha Felt (Sr., Waukee, Iowa), has shown up when it mattered to save Wayne State College with five saves on the year while posting a 2.40 ERA. She's appeared in 20 games while starting three.
Don't miss any of the Golden Eagle action as they face two winning programs this weekend in the Augustana University Vikings and the Wayne State College Wildcats. The Golden Eagles will face the University of Mary Marauders in their next matchup on Friday, April 18th at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. in Crookston, MN.
