Crookston, Minn. - Golden Eagle Softball wrapped up their home schedule with a 4-0 win over the University of Minnesota Morris. The Golden Eagles improved to 15-37 with the win and Charlotte Dombrowski (Sr., P/OF, Valparaiso, Ind.) improved to 8-11 on the season.
The first four innings saw neither team score, with the Golden Eagles registering four hits, one per inning. The Cougars had two hits through the first four innings.
The fifth inning was all Golden Eagles, scoring three runs on three hits. The first run was scored when Emily Kalina (Fr., CF/LHP, Rice Lake, Wis.) grounded out to first base, bringing Bryanna Decker (So., C/OF, Roseville, Calif.) home. The next batter up was Chayse Doering (So., OF, Shakopee, Minn.) who singled into right center, bringing both Irelyn Spencer (R-Jr., IF, Rapid City, S.D.) and Jocelyn Hernandez (So., OF, Tracy, Calif.) home to extend their lead to three.
The Golden Eagles scored one more run when Riley Blake (So., P/OF, Las Vegas, Nev.) hammered a home run for a 4-0 Golden Eagles win. Charlotte Dombrowski closed out the game in the top of the sixth, striking out one and not allowing a hit. Dombrowski allowed just two hits with six strikeouts for a strong day on the mound.

The Golden Eagles have four games remaining, all on the road. They will head to Mankato for a double header on Saturday against Minnesota State University, Mankato at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. before they go to Winona on Sunday to take on Winona State University at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
