LAKE CITY, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston women's golf team shot their lowest round of the 2026-27 season as they carded a 334 in the first round of The Jewel Invite at The Jewel in Lake City, Minn.
The Golden Eagles are eighth of 12 teams after the opening round at The Jewel Invite.Â
Minnesota Crookston was guided by Nayonika Kapoor (Fr., Bangalore, India), as the freshman led the way with a nine-over-par 81 for her career low score. She is tied for 25th. Ainsley McLain (Sr., Grafton, N.D.) shot a 10-over-par 82 for her best round of the season. Libby Dulmage (Sr., Leeds, N.D.) dropped three strokes from her season low for an 84 after round one. Laura Sitter (Fr., Medora, N.D.) carded a career-low fifteen-over-par 87. Dani Tinklenberg (Fr., WIlliston, N.D.) posted a 94 in the first round.
The Golden Eagles lead NSIC foes Bemidji State University, University of Mary, Minot State University, and Minnesota State University Moorhead. They lead the Beavers by 11 strokes. Minnesota Crookston is just four strokes behind Winona State University.
The Golden Eagles conclude The Jewel Invite Tuesday, September 22 in Lake City, Minn., with a 10 a.m. tee time.
