Burnsville, Minn. – Following a first place finish at the Newman Fall Invite in Kansas and helping the Golden Eagles to the tournament victory, Marc Bofarull Balleste (Jr., Barcelona, Spain) was named the NSIC Men's Golfer of the Week. Bofarull Balleste tied for first, but won the first playoff hole to take home the title.
 
Bofarull Balleste makes it back-to-back years that a Golden Eagle has won a Player of the Week. Lukas Justesen won it in early April of last season.
 
It was an outstanding weekend for Bofarull Balleste. The junior shot four under-par 68 during the first round of the Newman Fall Invite and was able to finish the tournament by shooting a second round 73 and a final round 72, which was even-par.
 
It's the first weekly award for the junior, who was also named to the NSIC All-Tournament team, the first by a Golden Eagle since 2011.
 
Bofarull Balleste has eight consecutive rounds of carding with a score of less than 75, dating back three tournaments.
 
Minnesota Crookston will look to continue their torrid run this week at the Missouri Western State Holiday Inn Classic in St. Joseph, Mo.
