Larchwood, Iowa – Following a weekend off, Minnesota Crookston women's golf swings back into their fall season at the USF Invitational in Larchwood, Iowa, hosted by the University of Sioux Falls.
It is the first tournament for the Golden Eagles under the direction of new head coach
Brady Heppner, who was hired earlier this fall.
The Golden Eagles have had an outstanding fall season, including a second place finish to open up the season in Bemidji. The maroon and gold have seen three straight seven place finishes as a team.
The Golden Eagles are coming off of a record setting performance in their last time out, breaking their school round record with a 311 and a two-round record of 625, breaking their previous record by 15 strokes.
Clara Hanson (Sr., Grand Forks, N.D.) has been fantastic in her last two tournaments, shooting 73 both days at the EverSpring Inn & Suites Mustang Classic, finishing in sixth. The scores of 73 were both career lows.
Anaka Lysne (Jr., Wahpeton, N.D.) has three top-10 finishes in four tournaments this fall.
The Golden Eagles lineup includes Hanson and Lysne, as well as
Ainsley McLain (So., Grafton, N.D.),
Lauren Bowyer (Jr., Ivanhoe, Minn.) and
Libby Dulmage (So., Leeds, N.D.).
It's a 10 team field starting on Monday morning into Tuesday. The list of programs competing along with the Golden Eagles include: Concordia-St. Paul, Minot State, Wayne State College, Sioux Falls, Winona State, Augustana, MSU Moorhead, UMary and Alexandria Tech.
