BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The University of Minnesota Crookston men's golf team finished the 2023 NSIC Preview Invitational in eighth place. The Golden Eagles showed great improvement from their first spring tournament to finish in the top half of a stacked field at Adams Pointe Golf Course in Blue Springs, Mo. The Golden Eagles defeated Rockhurst University, University of Sioux Falls, Minnesota State University, Augustana University, University of Mary, Upper Iowa University, the second squad for Bemidji State University, William Jewell College, Newman University, the second squad for Rockhurst, Minot State University, and Metropolitan Community College.

The Golden Eagles shot rounds of 301 and 306. They finished just one stroke back of Missouri Western State University and three strokes back of a three-way tie for fourth between Fort Hays State University, Winona State University, and Concordia University St. Paul.

Ethan Howes (Fr., Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta) finished tied for 17^th with rounds of 74 and 75. Rory Wutzke (So., Camrose, Alberta) shot rounds of 75 and 76. Devin Kucy (So., Camrose, Alberta) shot rounds of 76 and 76. Layton Bartley (So., Fargo, N.D.) shot a 76 and a 79. Keegan Poppenberg (Sr., Esko, Minn.) carded rounds of 79 and 79.

Individually, Cade Pederson finished tied for 22^nd with rounds of 76 and 76. Carson Shultis (Fr., Fargo, N.D.) shot an 86 in the first round and had a great day Tuesday with a 74. Julian Nieto (Fr., Bucaramanga, Colombia) shot rounds of 85 and 91.

The University of Central Missouri won the tournament with a team score of 580. Rogers State University's Daniel Robles Delval was the individual medalist with rounds of 67 and 71.
Minnesota Crookston is set to compete in The Mule Monday, April 3 and Tuesday, April 4 in Warrensburg, Mo.
