Prior to UMN Crookston: Howes was the 2021 Metro Edmonton Athletics High School Champion...Howes was the 2021 Maple Leaf Junior Tour Sundre event winner...In 2021, he won the Lakeside event for the Canadian Junior Golf Association. Howes led his team to the 2020 Metro Athletics Senior Boy's Basketball Team Championship...Howes shot a 71 in the second round of the Alberta U19 Championship in 2020.
