CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston women's basketball team will take on Bemidji State University Sat., Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. to open the NSIC season at Lysaker Gymnasium. UMC comes in with a 3-1 mark, while BSU is 4-0 in their first season under Head Coach Chelsea DeVille.

#Tidbits- The UMC women's basketball team is off to a 3-1 start to the 2015-16 season. The Golden Eagles were picked to finish fourth in the league and second in the NSIC North. The Golden Eagles are looking to get off to a strong start in league play as they take on the Beavers.
- The Golden Eagles are led by their pair of returning All-NSIC First Team picks with
Alexa Thielman and
Katrina Nordick. Both players have made major impacts so far this season and will look to do the same in conference play. Thielman is averaging 14.8 points per game, while Nordick is averaging 10.3 points per game.
- UMC has two impact sophomores who return as starters. The Golden Eagles's
Emily Gruber is averaging 9.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game through four games, while guard
Micaela Noga is averaging 7.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game thus far.
- The Golden Eagles have also looked to a pair of freshman who have made major impacts wiht

Caitlin Michaelis. Hughes is averaging 12.3 points per game, while shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc, while Michaelis is averaging 4.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
- Minnesota Crookston is averaging 70.5 points per game compared to 57.2 points per game for their opponents. UMC is shooting 44.3 percent from beyond the arc. The Golden Eagles are also out-rebounding their opponents 40.5 to 34.8.
- Bemidji State is in their first season under Head Coach Chelsea DeVille, who comes over from her assistant coach post at University of Sioux Falls to take over the program.
- NSIC Freshman of the Year Sierra Senske is off to another strong start for the Beavers, aeraging 14.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. BSU has also looked to sharp-shooter Aimee Pelzer, who is averaging 17.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 54.5 percent from beyond the arc, while Tatum Sheley is averaging 14.0 points per game and shooting 43.8 percent from beyond the arc.
- Bemidji State is off to a flawless 4-0 start on the season. They have out-scored their opponents 88.0 to 48.8 this season, while shooting 43.1 percent from beyond the arc and out-rebounding their foes 42.5 to 28.8.
