Blue Springs, Mo. -- Minnesota Crookston women's golf sits in sixth place after the first round at the NSIC Preview in Missouri, hosted by Minnesota State.
Anaka Lysne (Sr., Wahpeton, N.D.) sits in sixth place out of 72 golfers, after shooting a first round 75.
Missouri Western State leads the field by a stroke over Augustana, while Washburn is in third, three strokes behind the Griffons for first.
Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State are in a tie for fourth, eight strokes ahead of the Golden Eagles.
Lanie Veenendall of Augustana is even through the first 18 and leads the field. Lysne is in a four-way tie for sixth place.
The team score of 320 is the ninth best round in Golden Eagle history.
Emma Pierson (Fr., Cherry Valley, Ill.) sits nine over on the round and sits in a tie for 30th with 10 other golfers.
North Dakota natives Libby Dulmage (Jr., Leeds, N.D.) and Ainsley McLain (Jr., Grafton, N.D.) each are in a tie for 41st after shooting 10 over.
The Golden Eagles will look to continue to move up the leaderboard tomorrow for the final round at the NSIC Preview.
