Blue Springs, Mo. -- The historic season for Minnesota Crookston women's golf culminated in another historic moment at the NSIC Championships. The Golden Eagles finished sixth out of 13 teams at the NSIC Championships, their highest ranking in program history.
Anaka Lysne (Sr., Wahpeton, N.D.) capped off her outstanding career with a tie for third at the Championships, the highest finish ever for a Golden Eagle. She also was the first ever Golden Eagle to lead after two rounds. Lysne also became the first Golden Eagle to be named to the All-Tournament team.
Wayne State College moved up two spots to surpass both Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul, who finished in second and third, respectively. Winona State finished two strokes ahead of the Golden Eagles.
Emma Pierson (Fr., Cherry Valley, Ill.) finished her first NSIC Championships in a tie for 12th, shooting a final day 83. Ainsley McLain (Jr., Grafton, N.D.) and Libby Dulmage (Jr., Leeds, N.D.) also shot a final day 83.
Lauren Bowyer (Sr., Ivanhoe, Minn.) shot an 86 for the final round of her Golden Eagle career.
Minnesota Crookston loses three outstanding seniors in Lysne, Bowyer and Lilly Mahlberg (Sr., Worthington, Minn.). We wish them the best in their future endeavors. Once a Golden Eagle, always a Golden Eagle!
