Moorhead, Minn. -- After 11 games in Florida, Minnesota Crookston softball is back to reality. That reality is that mother nature loves to put a dent into certain plans. Minnesota Crookston was supposed to host both Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State this weekend at home, but those games have been moved to Moorhead on the campus of MSU Moorhead.
Minnesota Crookston will play Sioux Falls on Friday at 10 AM as part of a doubleheader and Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday at 10 AM as part of a doubleheader.

Minnesota Crookston (6-19)
Minnesota Crookston will open up the NSIC schedule with a pair of conference foes in Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State. The four games this weekend will take place in Moorhead.
The Golden Eagles had a really solid trip to Florida in terms of offense. The Golden Eagles, who hit less than .220 through their first ten games, are now hitting .279 as a team and have three hitters above .300 in Emily Kalina, Chayse Doering and Megan Surgenor. Madeline Murray and Valerie VanZant aren't too far below that .300 line, hitting .298 and .296, respectively. The Golden Eagles had five games with more than ten hits in a game, including 17 in a wild win over West Virginia Wesleyan.
In the circle, the Golden Eagles have a team ERA of 5.88. The Golden Eagles are led in the circle by Hannah Trzinski, who leads the way with a 2.75 ERA and is 3-2 on the season. Charlotte Dombrowski made three appearances in Florida and was solid. The senior has a 3.27 ERA on the season in one start. Dombrowski has the fourth most strikeouts on the team with 16, despite throwing the fifth most innings on the team.
University of Sioux Falls (12-13)
The Golden Eagles start up conference play this weekend against the University of Sioux Falls in Moorhead, MN at Nemzeck Stadium. The Cougars enter the matchup with a strong combination of consistent hitting and dominant pitching, making them a tough test to open NSIC play.
At the plate, Sioux Falls is led by Emma Kristof, who is hitting .351 on the season. Kristof has recorded 27 hits, scored 13 runs, and added 13 RBIs, serving as a key contributor in the lineup. Right alongside her is Kyra Knudtson, batting .347 with 25 hits, 11 runs, and 12 RBIs. Together, they provide a steady offensive presence and help generate scoring opportunities for the Cougars.
In the circle, Maddi Duncan has been a major force. With a 1.57 ERA, she has allowed just 34 runs while striking out 110 batters. Her ability to control the game and limit opposing offenses gives Sioux Falls a clear edge defensively.
Southwest Minnesota State University (14-12)
The Golden Eagles continue conference play as they face SMSU. The Mustangs enter the matchup with a balanced lineup and strong pitching, making them a competitive opponent.
SMSU is led by Riley Kramolisch, who is batting .370 and has been a key contributor at the plate. Aliza Acker adds depth with 23 hits and a team-leading six doubles, while Grace Anderson is hitting .317 with 14 RBIs. Emma Humpal leads the team with 16 RBIs and two home runs, providing power in the lineup.
In the circle, Jordyn Marsh leads the Mustangs with a 10-3 record and a 1.43 ERA, along with 81 strikeouts and a .209 opponent batting average. Ramsey Hopp adds depth with a 3.56 ERA over 74.2 innings, giving SMSU another reliable option.
