Minnesota Crookston Softball Announces Hiring of Nate Dusett as Top Assistant

Crookston, Minn. -- The University of Minnesota Crookston softball program and second year head coach Ashton Sangster announced the hiring of Nate Dusett this morning as their top assistant coach.
 
Minnesota Crookston opened the season this past weekend and will continue their non-conference play this weekend with five games in Colorado.
 
Dusett brings a wealth of experience to the Golden Eagles. Dusett has been in the coaching world for the past 26 years across youth, high school and the collegiate levels.
 
Dusett was involved in the youth softball world in New York from 2018-2022 and worked with Brighton Little League for five seasons, serving as their President.
 
Dusett has also been involved in high school and travel softball, as well. He worked with 'Smash It Sports' for four seasons, helping athletes get prepared for the collegiate game. Dusett also was the Program Director and coach for Genesee Power for two seasons, starting in 2024.
 
Previously, Dusett was the head softball coach at Genesee Community College, spending the past three seasons with the Cougars, two as the head coach. While under the direction of Dusett, the Cougars finished with 17 wins, more than their previous five seasons combined. He also coached 5 all-conference performers and an all-region performer, as well. The Cougars finished in the top five nationally in home runs, extra base-hits and offense.
 
Dusett received his bachelor's degree in human services from Empire State University.
