Crookston, Minn. - The Golden Eagles are heading to West Salem, Wisconsin to wrap up their regular season at the Warrior Invitational. The Golden Eagles have had extreme success this season, including a third place finish two weeks ago at the Jimmie Invitational. That third place finish is the highest finish in program history, something they now look to build off of heading into the final chapters of the season.
The Golden Eagles runners have been the models of consistency this season, led by both Natalie Wood (R-Jr., Big Timber, Mont.) and Natalie Scharenbroch (Fr., Marshfield, Wis.) who have finished first and second for the Golden Eagles in every race thus far. Wood was the first Golden Eagle across the finish line at the Jimmie Invitational, placing 12th out of 64 runners competing. Scharenbroch was second for the Golden Eagles and 14th in total. Morgan Shaw (Sr., Redmond, Ore.) has been the third Golden Eagle to cross the finish line every race this season, and that continued with the Jimmie Invitational as Shaw finished 16th amongst all runners.Â
The Golden Eagles now look to finish the regular season on a high note, with the Warrior Invitational set to begin at 2 p.m. for the women's race. Following the Warrior Invitational, the Golden Eagles will head south to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for the NSIC Championship on November 7th.
