Minnesota Crookston Women’s Cross Country Puts Forth Top Sixth Finish at Augie Twilight

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The University of Minnesota Crookston women's cross country team posted a stand-out performance to open the season Friday, September 4 at the Augie Twilight at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Golden Eagles finished sixth of 28 teams. The second-straight year they have finished in the top six at the Augie Twilight. Minnesota Crookston had the fourth-best finish of NSIC schools, defeating six NSIC foes. The 22 teams defeated by the Golden Eagles ties the program record set last year at the Augie Twilight. 

Natalie Scharenbroch (Fr., Marshfield, Wis.) made her collegiate debut Friday and posted the third-best 5K time in program history clocking in at 18:33.8 and finishing 34th. The mark was the fastest 5K time ever by a freshman and was also a personal record. Natalie Wood (Sr., Big Timber, Mont.) finished 45th with a time of 18:44.2, the fifth-best 5K mark in program history. Morgan Shaw (Sr., Redmond, Ore.) finished 55th notching a time of 19:00.8, the seventh-best 5K finish in program history. Amber Collins (So., Deer Creek, Minn.) clocked in at 19:17.1, finishing 71st. Collins took off nearly a minute from her 5K time as a freshman at the Augie Twilight, notching a personal record. Lindsay Kahn (Fr., Stetsonville, Wis.)made her collegiate debut, finishing 81st with a time of 19:27.9. Sienna Jones (Fr., Calgary, Alberta) had her first college race, finishing in 19:57.9. Caroline Kuehne (Jr., Long Prairie, Minn.) clocked in at 20:16.3. Katie Thram (Fr., Sanborn, Minn.) made her collegiate debut, clocking in at 20:17.7. Adeline Bjorklund (Fr., Park Rapids, Minn.) made her college debut, finishing in 20:28.4. Grace Alwardt (Sr., Lake Elsinore, Calif.) posted a time of 21:19.1. McKenzie Hildremyr (Fr., Bismarck, N.D.) had her college debut, finishing in 21:23.4. Rivyn DiPadova (So., Soldiers Grove, Wis.) posted a time of 22:19.8. Annelise Offerdahl (So., Circle Pines, Minn.) finished in 22:37.1. Emma WIlliams (Sr., Nashwauk, Minn.) notched a time of 23:05.4. Eva Robinson (Jr., Cavalier, N.D.) posted a finish of 24:38.7. 

Friday marked the first time the Golden Eagles had six runners finish the 5K in under 20:00.00. Last season, Minnesota Crookston had five student-athletes clock in under 20:00.00. 

The University of South Dakota won the Augie Twilight. University of South Dakota student-athlete Geneva Timmerman was the individual champion. 

The Golden Eagles return to action Friday, September 18 at the Roy Griak Invitational at Fort Snelling Golf Course.
