Wayne, Neb. – Minnesota Crookston women's golf took advantage of the better weather on Tuesday morning into the afternoon in Wayne, Neb., as the Golden Eagles improved upon their day one score by 18 strokes, shooting a 323 on the day, while also jumping up one spot to finish in eight.
The 323 for the Golden Eagles was tied for the ninth-best in program history and their 664 through two rounds makes it the seventh best finish in program history.
Minnesota Crookston will finish the season with an average team score of 330, which shatters the school record set last season by more than six strokes.
Wayne State College took the Wildcat Classic, finishing two strokes better than Montana State-Billings and four strokes better than Augustana. Minnesota State and Winona State rounded out the top-five.
Minnesota Crookston's outstanding day placed them above Iowa Western Community College, who is ranked 14
th in the nation in the Division I rankings of Junior College.
Junior
Anaka Lysne (Jr., Wahpeton, N.D.) was nothing short of fantastic on the day. Lysne moved up 16 spots, finishing in a tie for 17
th, after shooting a 77 on the day. Lysne finished with three birdies on the day. With the help of a pair of birdies,
Clara Hanson (Sr., Grand Forks, N.D.) also moved up the leaderboard. Hanson carded a 79, moving up 11 spots from the first round, finishing in 29
th.
Ainsley McLain (So., Grafton, N.D.) finished the day two strokes better than yesterday, finishing in 35
th.
Lauren Bowyer (Jr., Ivanhoe, Minn.) shot an 85 on the day, while
Libby Dulmage (So., Leeds, N.D.) carded an 88.
Lysne now has finished in the top-20 in eight of the nine tournaments this season for the Golden Eagles, as well as having six top-10 finishes.
