Crookston, Minn. - The ACHA has officially published their first regional rankings of the season, with the Golden Eagles opening at 13th. This means that there are four WCCHA teams ahead of the Golden Eagles: #2 University of St. Thomas, who the Golden Eagles split their season series with, #4 University of Minnesota, who the Golden Eagles will matchup with in Minneapolis on January 16th and 17th, #7 Minnesota State University - Mankato, and #10 University of Wisconsin. The University of Jamestown is the only other WCCHA team ranked, coming in at 16.

The Golden Eagles have four ranked opponents on their schedule, with three of those opponents left to be played. They have played two of those matchups, on the road against South Dakota State University where they split the series, and at home against St. Thomas, a series that was also split. The Golden Eagles will host Jamestown for their next ranked matchup on January 10th and 11th, the following weekend is their next ranked match as they head to Minneapolis to take on the Golden Gophers, their current final ranked opponent is a rematch with South Dakota State University in Crookston on January 23rd and 24th.
