Minnesota Crookston Trap in First Place in the Conference after Week One of Spring Season

CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston trap team placed first after the opening week of Spring season in the USA College Clay Target League 1A Conference 6 standings. The Golden Eagles are in a conference with Bethany Lutheran College, Williston State College, Mount Aloysius College, and Saint John's University (Minn.) this spring.

The Golden Eagles have a score of 722 and they currently lead Bethany Lutheran, who is in second place with a score of 631.

Jayden Bergerson (So., Gully, Minn.) is tied for sixth in the entire USA College Clay Target League after week one, with an average of 24.5. Bergerson had a 25-straight in week one. Bergerson is tied for sixth among male shooters in the USA College Clay Target League. Heather Kaup (So., Forest Lake, Minn.), Gracie Lunsetter (Jr., Gatzke, Minn.), and Kelsey Harms (So., Norwood Young America, Minn.) are all tied for eighth among female shooters in the league with an average of 23.5. 

Bergerson is tied for second in the conference among male shooters. Hunter Kasprowicz (Jr., Radium, Minn.) is tied for eighth. Harms, Lunsetter, and Kaup are tied for third among female shooters in the conference after week one. Ellen Payne (Jr., St. Louis Park, Minn.) and Lily Krona (Jr., Bemidji, Minn.) are tied for seventh among female shooters in the conference. Allison Jepson (Fr., Frazee, Minn.) is tied for 10th in the conference.

Bergerson was 49-of-50 in week one. Harms, Kasprowicz, Kaup, Lunsetter, and Codey Wolff each hit 47-of-50 targets in week one. Chase Nelson (Fr., Oklee, Minn.), Hunter Pierson (Fr., St. Hilaire, Minn.), and Braxton Qual (Fr., Mahnomen, Minn.) were 46-of-50 in the first week. Payne, Krona, and Louis Siegel (Fr.) were 45-of-50. Jepson and Collin Schlomann (Jr., Lake Lillian, Minn.) were 44-of-50 in the first week. Ethan Benedict (So., Maple Grove, Minn.) hit 43-of-50 targets in week one. McKenna Bennett (Fr., Greenbush, Minn.) was 41-of-50. Olivia Burstad (Fr., Menominee, Wis.) hit 40-of-50 targets in the first week.

In addition, Minnesota Crookston competed at the Bison Clay Clash at NDSU last weekend. Kasprowicz received male high gun with a score of 96-of-100. Krona received female high gun with a score of 95-of-100. Krona received two 25-straight patches, while Kasprowicz received one.
