BUNKER HILL, Ill. - The University of Minnesota Crookston trap team is 10th of 20 teams after the first day at the USA College Clay Target League National Championship at Brittany Shooting Park in Bunker Hill, Ill.
Lindenwood University is in first place after scoring 492 points. Lake Land College is in second place with 488 points. McPherson College and Bismarck State College are right ahead of the Golden Eagles with 461 points. The Golden Eagles notched 458 points, and lead Western Technical College, and Bethany Lutheran College.
Jayden Bergerson (Sr., Gully, Minn.) led the Golden Eagles with 95-of-100 targets, including a 48 in session two. Lucas Wavra (So., East Grand Forks, Minn.) had 92-of-100 targets, including a 47 in session one. Codey Wolff (Sr., Wadena, Minn.) hit 92-of-100 targets, scoring a 46 in both sessions. Kelsey Harms (Sr., Norwood Young America, Minn.) connected on 90-of-100 targets, tallying 47 in the opening session. Austin Hughes (So., New York Mills, Minn.) hit 89-of-100 targets, as did Kallen Littler (So., Bemidji, Minn.), and Chase Nelson (Jr., Red Lake Falls, Minn.).
Bergerson ranked 21st for the high gun in the gold class for males. Wavra ranked 39th. Rebecca Morstad (So., Cavalier, N.D.) is 31st for the high gun female class. Hughes is 12th for high gun for the silver class. Harms is second for high gun for the silver class for females, while Kara Wold (Jr., Belgrade, Minn.) ranks ninth among females.
The Golden Eagles conclude the USACCTL National Championship in Bunker Hill, Ill. Sunday, November 2.
