Crookston, Minn. – First-year head coach Ashton Sangster announced the hiring of Grace Clouser as the top assistant coach for Golden Eagle softball.
 
Sangster heads into her first season at the helm of the Golden Eagles after spending the previous three as the top assistant at Minnesota Crookston.
 
Clouser is a graduate of the University of Iowa and competed in the rowing club and was also a part of the Hawkeye Flying Club for three years. Clouser also earned an All Big-Ten Academic Award as a Hawkeye.
 
Clouser got her start as a junior high head coach in 2021 at Panorama High School in Panora, Iowa. She was then named as the head coach of Tipton High School in Tipton, Iowa.
 
While at Tipton High School, the former Hawkeye had a number of different duties, including putting together practice plans, field maintenance, getting personnel to work home games and worked on-field stuff such as hitting, fielding and pitching, as well.
 
The Golden Eagles will open up the 2025 season on Friday, Jan. 31 in Branson, Mo., for a doubleheader with East Central University and Northwestern Oklahoma State.
 
The Golden Eagles return a number of quality contributors on offense in 2025, including Haley Koch (Sr., C, Mondamin, Iowa), Rayna French (So., C, La Salle, Manitoba) and All-Conference performer Whitnee Curry (Sr., MIF, Lincoln, Neb.). The Golden Eagles finished 14-39 in 2024. 


In the circle, the Golden Eagles also return Evie Stuck (Sr., P, Papillion, Neb.) and Alexa Guilford (Jr., P, Crystal City, Manitoba), who won four games in the circle for the maroon and gold.
