CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston men's cross country team will compete in the NCAA Central Region Championships Saturday, November 9 at Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Mo. The event is hosted by Missouri Southern State University. The Golden Eagles will compete in the 10K at 10 a.m.

The race will be the first 10K of the season for Minnesota Crookston, as they have competed in mostly 8K races. Colton Uber (R-Sr., Brunswick, Ohio) holds the 10K record for the Golden Eagles with a time of 32:48.99 at the 2022 Central Region Championships. Tristan Morneault (R-Sr., Dieppe, New Brunswick) has a top 10K time of 32:49.0 in 2022. Connor Thoennes (Jr., Coleraine, Minn.) has a personal record in the 10K of 33:27.1 in 2022. Taylor Johnson (So., Lake Park, Minn.) ran the 10K in 35:06.65 last season. Riley Hanson (R-So., Farmington, Minn.) clocked in at 35:10.65 in 2023. Zach Hanson (R-So., Farmington, Minn.) finished the 2023 race in 35:52.35.
Noah Revels (R-So., Farmington, Minn.), Robert Ingle (So., Laura, Ohio), and Chase Werner (Fr., Marshall, Minn.) have not run at the Central Region Championships. The Golden Eagles finished 28th of 29 teams at the 2023 Championships in Joplin, Mo.
The Golden Eagles are coming off their best finish ever at the NSIC Championships in Minot, N.D., October 28. Minnesota Crookston had their best-ever time as a team at 26:12 in the 8K. Revels set the 8K school record with a time of 25:26.6. Thoennes and Johnson also broke the previous school record with times of 26:00.8, and 26:08.4 respectively.
Minnesota Crookston has continued to break personal records and grow as a team throughout the 2024 season, showing constant improvement as a squad.
