Minnesota Crookston Softball to Take on Bemidji State in Site Relocated Games Wednesday

CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston's softball games set to be played at home at the UMC Softball Field in Crookston, Minn., have been moved due to unplayable field conditions. The Golden Eagles will now open NSIC play against Bemidji State University Wed., March 27 at 12 and 2 p.m. at Chet Anderson Stadium in Bemidji, Minn.

The Golden Eagles will look to build on their 11-13 mark. The record is the best for Minnesota Crookston in non-conference play in the NCAA Division II history of the program. The Golden Eagles are one win away from tying their school record for wins in a season, which was set with 12 wins during the 2017 season.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a strong trip to Florida as Minnesota Crookston posted a 5-3 mark in the "Sunshine State".

The Golden Eagles hit .303 during their games in Florida. Maggie Morales (Sr., 3B/1B, Tucson, Ariz.) had an outstanding week in Florida, as she hit .480 with two runs scored, two doubles, one home run, and eight RBIs. Haley Strachan (Sr., OF, Phoenix, Ariz.) hit .357 with two runs scored. Jordan Peterson (So., C, Lakeville, Minn.) is hitting a team-high .389 for the season with six runs scored and seven RBIs, while Malia Pula (Jr., UT, Gilroy, Calif.) is batting .338 with 14 runs scored, five doubles, two home runs and 13 RBIs. Mika Rodriguez (Jr., 2B/SS, Laveen, Ariz.) is hitting .310 on the year with a team-high 24 runs scored, six doubles, five home runs and 13 RBIs.

In the circle, Taylor Graven (So., RHP, Greene, Iowa) has been strong with a 5-2 mark and a 2.71 ERA in 69.2 innings pitched with 37 strikeouts to just 21 walks. Paige Pitlick (Jr., RHP, Jordan, Minn.) comes in with a 4-8 record and a 3.41 ERA in 63.2 innings pitched with 52 strikeouts and just 19 walks. Bemidji State enters the week with a 17-7 mark on the season. The Beavers have won their last eight games dating back to a 1-0 win over Bentley University in Kissimmee, Fla. March 14.

The Beavers are a senior-laden squad for the 2019 season. Senior outfielder Jessica Burlingame is leading the team with a .413 batting average with 25 runs scored, three doubles, four triples, two home runs and 18 RBIs. Brooke Phillips enters the week with a 3.71 batting average, 16 runs scored, nine doubles, and 14 RBIs. Elaina Christiansen has been an impact freshman for the Beavers, as she is hitting .348 with 15 runs scored, three doubles, one home run and 12 RBIs. Bemidji State is batting .303 as a team with 151 runs scored, 39 doubles, seven triples, 13 home runs and 131 RBIs.

In the circle, sophomore Stephi Dullum has been dominant with a 7-3 mark and a 1.09 ERA in 64.1 innings pitched. Dullum has 45 strikeouts to just eight walks on the season. The Beavers have also utilized both Megan Pehrson and Kaidron McClafferty in the circle. Pehrson is 4-2 with a 3.95 ERA in 33.2 innings pitched with 48 strikeouts to just 18 walks. McClafferty is 3-0 with a 3.50 ERA with 22 strikeouts to just nine walks.
