Minnesota Crookston Softball Concludes 2018 Season at Home Against Cougars and Mustangs


CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston softball team will host their final four games of the 2018 season Saturday and Sunday. The Golden Eagles will take on University of Sioux Falls Sat., April 28 at 1 and 3 p.m. and Southwest Minnesota State University Sun., April 29 at 12 and 2 p.m.

The Golden Eagles will honor their 2018 senior class following Saturday's doubleheader. Minnesota Crookston will recognize Heather Cunningham (Sr., Jacksonville, Fla.), Jenna Boardman (Sr., Genoa, Wis.), Kassidy Klaphake (Sr., Cold Spring, Minn.), Victoria Bayliss (Sr., West Bloomfield, Mich.), Gabriel Antolak (Sr., Zimmerman, Minn.), and Khailyn Neumayer (Sr., Morgan Hill, Calif.).

The Golden Eagles come into the weekend with a 6-36 (2-18 NSIC) mark as they open the final weekend of the season. Minnesota Crookston will look to send the seniors out on a strong note. Sioux Falls comes in with a 26-17 (11-9 NSIC) mark, while Southwest Minnesota State is 13-22 (8-12 NSIC).

The Golden Eagles are led by senior Gabriel Antolak (C, Zimmerman, Minn.), who is hitting .361 with 20 runs, six doubles, five home runs and 16 RBIs. Maycee Trujillo (Jr., 3B, Sioux Falls, S.D.) is batting .342 with seven runs, five doubles and 10 RBIs, while senior Jenna Boardman (Sr., SS/2B, Genoa, Wis.) has a .333 batting average with 10 runs, nine doubles, two triples and 10 RBIs.
