CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston softball team will host their final home weekend of the 2017 season Sat., April 22 and Sun., April 23 at the UMC Softball Field. The Golden Eagles will take on Augustana University Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m. They will conclude the weekend Sunday at 1 and 3 p.m. versus Wayne State College (Neb.).

Minnesota Crookston enters the weekend with an 11-30-1 (1-18-1 NSIC) mark. The Golden Eagles remain just one game shy of tying the school record of 12 wins set during the 2004 season. They came close in extra innings on Wednesday against U-Mary but fell just short.

Augustana enters the weekend with a 31-11 (16-4 NSIC) record. The Vikings are currently in third place in the conference standings. Augustana is led by Sarah Kennedy, who is hitting .511 with a team-high 45 runs scored, 12 home runs and 46 RBI's. The Vikings also looks to Shannon Petersen, who is batting .386 with 27 runs scored, 11 doubles, 10 home runs and 38 RBI's. In the circle, Lexy Pederson has had a strong season for Augustana, leading the way with a 16-4 mark and a 1.70 ERA in 123.2 innings pitched, while Olivia Wolters is 13-6 with a 2.98 ERA in 119.2 innings pitched.
Wayne State comes into the weekend with an 11-33 (5-15 NSIC) mark. The Wildcats are led by Monique Alyea, who is hitting .336 with 14 runs scored, four doubles, three home runs and 15 RBI's. In addition, Katelyn Wobken is batting .331 with 31 runs scored, nine doubles, five triples, four home runs and 20 RBI's. In the circle, the Wildcats are led by Nataliah Hopkins, who is 9-18 with a 5.07 ERA in 169.2 innings pitched. Wayne State also looks to Riley Vanderveen, who is 2-11 with a 6.61 ERA in 78.1 innings pitched.
