Minnesota Crookston Games Against Bemidji State Moved to Thursday; Set to Play at Jamestown Wednesday

CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston softball games scheduled for Tues., April 28 at 2 and 4 p.m. have been moved to Thurs., March 30 at 2 and 4 p.m. against Bemidji State University in order to let field conditions improve at the UMC Softball Field.

Minnesota Crookston will also play a non-conference series against University of Jamestown Wed., March 29 at 3 and 5 p.m.

The Golden Eagles come into the week with a 10-12 (0-0 NSIC) mark. They had the last week-and-a-half off from games after going 6-5 during the Tucson Invitational March 12-18 in Tucson, Ariz. Minnesota Crookston has been led in the circle by Bailey Braatz (Sr., RHP, Buffalo, Minn.), who has had a phenomenal start to her senior season. Braatz is 8-3 with a 3.03 ERA in 67.0 innings pitched with 40 strikeouts and 16 walks.

At the plate, Victoria Bayliss (Jr., OF, West Bloomfield, Mich.) leads Minnesota Crookston with a .370 batting average with 14 runs scored, two doubles, one triple and six RBI's. Hailey Fitzpatrick (Fr., 2B/SS, Becker, Minn.) has been hitting .367 from the leadoff spot with 13 runs scored and 12 RBI's. Samantha Proctor (Fr., C, Champlin, Minn.) is hitting .353 with six runs scored and six RBI's while Maggie Morales (So., OF/1B, Tucson, Ariz.) has a .347 batting average with eight runs scored and eight RBI's.

The Golden Eagles have been strong on the base paths as they have 38 stolen bases on 39 attempts. Fitzpatrick leads the way with 14 stolen bases, while Jozie Garner (Sr., OF, Eureka, Kan.) has nine stolen bases and Bayliss has seven. Minnesota Crookston is hitting .385 as a team with 99 runs scored, 32 doubles, five triples, four home runs and 87 RBI's. In the circle, the U of M Crookston has posted a 5.28 ERA with 80 strikeouts and 59 walks.

Jamestown enters the week with a 20-12 mark. The Jimmies are led by Mikayla Frost, who is hitting .491 with 30 runs scored and 18 RBI's. Emma Keller has a .422 average with 41 runs scored, five home runs and 24 RBI's. The pitching staff is led by Hanna Dunnigan, who is 8-4 with a 1.78 ERA in 102.1 innings pitched. Brittany Rheault has posted a 6-3 mark with a 3.56 ERA in 55.0 innings pitched.

Bemidji State enters the week with a 10-5 mark on the season. The Beavers are led by Jessica Yost, who is 7-2 with a 1.10 ERA in 57.1 innings pitched. Their pitching staff is also aided by Rochelle Koshalek, who is 2-1 with a 1.05 ERA in 20.0 innings pitched.

At the plate, the Beavers look to Yost, who is hitting .450 with 11 runs scored, three home runs and 12 RBI's. Alexandra Ripka is hitting .431 with 17 runs scored and seven RBI's, while Alayna Krejci is hitting .386 with five runs scored and 11 RBI's.
