UMC Softball Heads to Wayne and Sioux Falls for Four Game Road Trip

CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston softball team will hit the road for a pair of games April 9 and 10 at Wayne State College (Neb.) and Augustana University. The Golden Eagles will take on the Wildcats at 12 and 2 p.m. Sat., April 9. They will then conclude their weekend Sun., April 10 at 12 and 2 p.m. against the Vikings.

The Golden Eagles come into the weekend with a 7-25 mark on the season. They are 1-11 in the NSIC. Minnesota Crookston is hitting .283 as a team on the 2016 season. The Golden Eagles have looked to Gabriel Antolak (So., C/3B, Zimmerman, Minn.) is hitting .357 on the season with 17 runs scored and 13 RBI's. In addition, Allison Foley (Sr., SS, Lockport, Ill.) comes in batting .356 with three home runs, 19 RBI's and 21 runs scored.

In the circle, Heather Cunningham (So., RHP, Jacksonville, Fla.) leads the way with a 3-6 mark and a 5.92 ERA in 65.0 innings pitched.

Wayne State comes in with a 15-18 mark on the season. The Wildcats are led on the year by Lexie Loos, who is hitting .472 with 33 runs scored and eight RBI's. Emily Chandler comes in with a .438 batting average with 17 runs scored, three home runs and 27 RBI's.

The Wildcat pitching staff is led by Cassy Miller, who is 11-13 with a 4.39 ERA in 142.0 innings pitched.

Augustana  enters the weekend with a 24-11 mark on the year. The Vikings are led by Carley Pickett, who is batting .412 with 32 runs scored and 12 RBI's on the season. Carly Peterson is batting .397 on the year with 39 runs scored, five home runs and 24 RBI's, while Maggie Kadrlik is batting .393 with 24 runs scored, 10 home runs and 41 RBI's.

The Viking pitching staff is led by Karlee Koopman, who is 9-5 with a 2.04 ERA in 99.1 innings pitched, while Pickett is 14-6 with a 2.36 ERA in 124.1 innings pitched.
