UMC Softball to Play Four Games in Iowa Against Upper Iowa and Winona State

CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston softball game schedule against Upper Iowa University and Winona State University has been adjusted due to a snow storm that is hitting parts of Minnesota heading into the weekend. The Golden Eagles will take on Upper Iowa at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Eischeid Softball Complex in Fayette, Iowa. UMC will then take on Winona State at 3 and 5 p.m. at Eischeid Softball Complex in Fayette, Iowa.

The Golden Eagles enter the weekend with a 6-14 mark on the season as they are off to one of their best starts in program history. UMC is just one win shy of meeting their combined win total over the previous two seasons.

Minnesota Crookston has been led on the season by Gabriel Antolak (So., C/3B, Zimmerman, Minn.), who is hitting .431 with 12 runs scored, one home run and 11 RBI's. Allison Foley (Sr., SS, Lockport, Ill.) has also had a great start to the season. Foley hit .489 at the Tucson Invitational with 14 runs scored, seven doubles, two home runs and 14 RBI's with a .867 slugging percentage.

Jozie Garner (Jr., OF, Eureka, Kan.) has also had an impact in her first season with the Golden Eagles, hitting .345 with 12 runs scored and four RBI's.

In the circle, UMC is led by Mikayla Jones (Fr., RHP, Huxley, Iowa), who is 2-2 with a 5.47 ERA in 26.1 innings pitched. Heather Cunningham (So., RHP, Jacksonville, Fla.) comes into Friday with a 3-4 mark with a 7.30 ERA.

Upper Iowa is 15-9 on the 2016 season. The Peacocks have been led on the season by Lauren Marlinghaus, who is hitting .367 with five runs scored, four home runs and 11 RBI's. Sammy Garrett enters the weekend hitting .344 with 14 runs scored, one home run and six RBI's.

In the circle, Jacqueline Flood is 6-5 with a 1.93 ERA in 79.2 innings pitched with 74 strikeouts. Brooke Redmond enters the weekend with an 8-2 mark and a 2.51 ERA in 75.1 innings pitched.
Winona State enters the weekend with a 19-6-0 mark on the season. The Warriors are led at the plate by Reed Karsten, who is hitting .398 with 16 runs scored, six doubles, two home runs and 18 RBI's. Natalie Kalmes comes in batting .394 with 16 runs scored, seven doubles, two home runs and 19 RBI's.

In the circle, the Warriors rely a lot on Hanna Lythberg, who is 10-2 with a 1.07 ERA in 781. Innings pitched. Alex Walker comes in with a 4-2 mark and a 2.25 ERA in 46.2 innings pitched.
