CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston women's basketball team will look to build on their five-game win streak as they take on St. Cloud State University and University of Minnesota Duluth at home at Lysaker Gymnasium Sat., Jan. 9 and Sun., Jan. 10. The Golden Eagles are currently in a tie with Northern State University in second in the NSIC North, one game behind St. Cloud State, making Saturday a big game. The Golden Eagles will tip off at 2 p.m. against the Huskies and 1 p.m. Sun., Jan. 10 against UMD. UMC is 9-3 (6-2 NSIC) entering the weekend, while St. Cloud State is 8-4 (7-1 NSIC) and Minnesota Duluth is 3-8 (3-5 NSIC).

#Tidbits- The UMC women's basketball team is 9-3 entering the weekend with a 6-2 conference mark. The Golden Eagles have won five-straight games with their last losses coming on the road to St. Cloud State University and University of Minnesota Duluth. The Golden Eagles will get a second shot at those teams this weekend as they host the Huskies at 2 and 4 p.m. Sat., Jan. 9 and will face the Bulldogs Sun., Jan. 10 at 1 and 3 p.m. The battle between UMC and St. Cloud State will mark the battle for first place as St. Cloud State is in first and Minnesota Crookston is in second.

Katrina Nordick continue to break milestones as they are currently No. 6 and No. 3 on the all-time scoring charts at UMC. Thielman recently tied the three-point mark with Amy Kuznia and should surpass the mark this weekend and Nordick is 87 rebounds from Laurie Tyson's record. Nordick is third all-time in scoring and needs 362 points to move past Karna Plaine in second, while Thielman will look to surpass former teammate Brittani Wiese in fifth all-time for scoring. Thielman needs 14 points to move past Brittani Weise in fifth.

- The Golden Eagles continue to be one of the best three-point shooting teams in the nation. UMC is currently second in NCAA Division II with a 43.4 team percentage. The Golden Eagles have three players with 30 or more attempts shooting over 40 percent. Thielman is shooting 45.5 percent, while
Alison Hughes is shooting 45.3 percent and
Emily Gruber is shooting 43.3 percent.
- St. Cloud State currently leads the NSIC North with an 8-4 (7-1 NSIC) mark overall. The Huskies were without leader Lexy Petermann last weekend. In her absence, St. Cloud State is led by 6-1 post Karissa LeCaptain, who is averaging 12.3 points and 8.3 rebounds, while guard Chelsea Nooker is averaging 12.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
- Minnesota Duluth is 3-8 (3-5 NSIC) entering the weekend in Mandy Pearson's first season leading the Bulldogs. UMD is led by 6-2 center Allyson Harris, who is averaging 12.8 points and 5.3 rebounds, while 5-10 forward Kenzie Kane is averaging 9.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
