CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston softball team will trek to Minot, N.D. Tues., March 31 to face Minot University at 2 and 4 p.m. at Herb Parker Stadium.
The Golden Eagles enter Tuesday with a 4-20 (0-6 NSIC) mark after losing two doubleheaders to Upper Iowa University and Winona State University last weekend. Minnesota Crookston was within striking distance in several games of the weekend, especially Saturday, falling just 3-2 to No. 14 Winona State.
UMC has been led on the season by
Victoria Bayliss (Fr., OF, West Bloomfield, Mich./Elemetnary Education), who has had an impressive start to her freshman campaign with the Golden Eagles. Bayliss is hitting .405 with 14 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple and nine runs batted in.
Shelby Hollinger (Sr., 2B, Neudorf, Saskatchewan/Health Science) enters Tuesday with a .333 batting average, six home runs, 12 RBI's and 17 runs scored.
Allison Foley (Jr., SS, Lockport, Ill./Accounting) has also played well thus far, hitting .373 with 16 runs scored and 10 RBI's.

Bailey Braatz (So., RHP, Buffalo, Minn./Sports and Rec Management) comes in with a 2-8 mark and a 5.50 ERA in 62.1 innings pitched to lead the Golden Eagles. Sammy Knudsen (So., RHP/OF, Fergus Falls, Minn./Health Science) is 1-1 with a 6.14 ERA in 21.2 innings pitched.
Minot State is 20-8 (1-4 NSIC) entering Tuesday. UMC has already faced the Beavers four times this season in non-conference play. Minot State won all four, despite overall strong play from the Golden Eagles. Jordan Grant leads Minot State with a .490 batting average and 35 runs scored. In addition to Grant, Melissa Bell comes in with a .415 batting average, 29 runs scored, five home runs and 28 RBI's. The Beavers are a strong-hitting team, coming in with a team batting average of .333.
In the circle Minot State has used one primary pitcher with Mindy Lorimor accounting for 123.1 innings with a 14-6 mark and a 2.55 ERA.
