- The UMC women's basketball team is 6-3 on the season after two big wins against Wayne State and Augustana. The Golden Eagles wanted to make sure they came away with wins after a disappointing showing the previous weekend against University of Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State. The Golden Eagles will look to go into the New Year with a 7-3 mark if they can come away with a win against the always difficult Bemidji State University Beavers.

- UMC's pair of seniors Alexa Thielman and Katrina Nordick continue to break milestones as they are currently No.5 and No. 3 on the all-time scoring charts at UMC, while Thielman threatens for the three-point mark and Nordick is 111 rebounds from Laurie Tyson's record. Nordick needs 31 points to move past Kari Score for third all-time in scoring, while Thielman will look to surpass former teammate Brittani Wiese in fourth all-time for scoring. Thielman needs just nine three-pointers to move past Amy Kuznia for the three-point record.

All-Time Scoring List
1. Jamie Zelinsky 1,724
2. Karna Plaine 1,642
3. Kari Score 1,243
4. Katrina (Moenkedick) Nordick 1,213
5. Brittani Wiese 1,204
6. Alexa Thielman 1,151
7. Steph Mayclin 1,089
8. Cathy Behr 1,060
9. Jess Forsline 1,040
10. Bri Zabel 1,013

- The Golden Eagles were very balanced on the weekend as they had all five of their starters tally double-figure scoring between the two games against Wayne State and Augustana. Nordick led the Golden Eagles with 24 and nine against Wayne State, while Thielman added 23 and Micaela Noga had 10. Against Augustana, it was Emily Gruber and Alison Hughes who put together big nights to help out Nordick and Thielman. Nordick had 20 and 14, while Thielman had 15, Gruber had 18 and Hughes had 15. The Golden Eagles will continue to look for the balance against Bemidji State.

- Bemidji State fell 80-52 to the Golden Eagles at Lysaker Gymnasium earlier this season, but they are coming off a big win of their own, beating Wayne State on Saturday. The Beavers are 5-4 on the season under first-year Head Coach Chelsea DeVille. Bemidji State recently moved to the smaller line-up and it has played off as they have been using guard Alison Cordes over forward Katie Miller as a starter.

- The Beavers are led by 2014-15 NSIC Freshman of the Year Sierra Senske, who is the daughter of UMC Hall of Famer Steele Senske and grand-daughter of former UMC men's basketball coach Gary Senske. Senske comes in with 14.6 points and 5.2 rebounds. Bemidji State has been led this season by guard Aimee Pelzer, who is averaging 15.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game, while shooting 45.5 percent from beyond the arc. Fellow guard Tatum Sheley has also been strong, averaging 12.0 points per game and shooting 36.4 percent from beyond the arc.
