(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Softball team hosted the University of Mary today at the UMC Softball Field. The Golden Eagle offense that has been struggling as of late didn't show up today as UMC fell 10-0 and 4-0 to the Marauders.
Josee Plante (3B, Fr, Manitou, Manitoba) and
Kelli Burns (OF, So, Montrose, Minn.) led the Golden Eagle offense with two hits apiece.
Sara Wiedmaier (1B, Jr, Marengo, Ill.) and
Courtney Bridge (SS, Fr, Port Coquitlam, British Columbia) each tallied a hit for six total for UMC on the day. The Golden Eagle defense played better committing just three errors in the double-header. Burns and
Paige Schaust (P, So, Delano, Minn.) both threw pretty solid for the Golden Eagles giving up two and four earned runs respectively.
The Golden Eagles take the weekend off and travel to MSU Moorhead on Wednesday, April 11 to play the Dragons in NSIC action. First pitch of the double-header is scheduled for 2 p.m.
