(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Hunt Seat Equestrian team has three student-athletes that will take place in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone Finals scheduled for Sunday, April 1 in Marion, Ind.
Angela Peterson (Jr, Detroit Lakes, Minn.) was the Champion in Novice Equitation Over Fences for Zone 7, Region 3 and will move on to the Zone Finals. Walk Trot riders
Annalee Sundin (So, Deer River, Minn.) and
Sam Kramer (Fr, Corcoran, Minn.) claimed the top two spots and will both move on to the Zone Finals. Sundin was Champion of Zone 7, Region 3 and Kramer was Reserve Champion.
“These three athletes performed extremely well at the Regional Championships and they have been working hard these last few weeks in preparation for zones,” says Golden Eagle Head Coach
Brooke Leininger. “The top two individuals at zones will go on to nationals. Any one of them could win at zones with the skills and talent that they have. It's now putting it all together and performing to the best of their abilities.”
The IHSA Nationals will be held in Raleigh, N.C. on May 3-6.
