(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Hunt Seat Equestrian team returns to action after a lengthy break on Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5 when they travel to Stillwater, Minn. to take part in a show hosted by the University of Minnesota. Competitions begin at 1 p.m. and 9 a.m. respectively.
The Golden Eagles have been off since hosting their home show on November 19-20. Coach
Brooke Leininger is excited for her student-athletes to get back to action.
“I am expecting to see much more consistent and solid rides in the over fences classes and some wins on the flat,” says Coach Leininger. “Several riders are within a reasonable reach of qualifying for the Regional Championships at the end of February. Hopefully we can get them to that point this coming weekend. We've been focusing on improving specific skill sets on the flat and over fences and taking a considerable amount of time to really work through the problems that they encountered in the fall. The team is excited to get back into action and wrap up the season on a high note. Our sights set on qualifying for the Zone Finals.
