(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Hunt Seat Equestrian team returns to action on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2 when they travel to LeSuer, Minn. for a show hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College. Competitions begin at 1 p.m. and 9 a.m. respectively.
This weekend will see several newcomers compete for the first time for the Golden Eagles.
Hannah Nedrud (So, St. Louis Park, Minn.) and
Allie Dohmeier (Fr, Apple Valley, Minn.) are the newest Walk-Trot-Canter riders. “These are two young, talented athletes that are going to be ones to watch as the season unravels,” says Golden Eagle Head Coach
Brooke Leininger. Samantha Kramer (Fr, Corcoran, Minn.) is the team's Walk-Trot rider and will compete for the Golden Eagles for the first time on Saturday.
Chelsea Roetman (So, Owatonna, Minn.) and
Addie O' Neil (Jr, Redwood Falls, Minn.) are stepping up into new and more difficult divisions this weekend. “I expect to see them come off of the Kansas State competition ready for the challenge,” says Coach Leininger.
Denise Thompson (So, Rochester, N.Y.),
Angela Peterson (Jr, Detroit Lakes, Minn.) and
Jessica Charles (Jr, Belgrade Lakes, Maine) are becoming more consistent. This weekend Coach Leininger expects them to be very competitive in their divisions.
Tiffany Rask (Jr, Minneapolis, Minn.) will be competing at the Novice level for the first time. Coach Leininger expects to see
Annalee Sundin (So, Deer River, Minn.) win out of the Walk-Trot and
Melanie Rodriguez (Jr, Chanhassen, Minn.) win out of Walk-Trot-Canter and for both of to step up and be highly competitive in their new divisions this year.
