(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Softball team hosted Bemidji State University on Tuesday, April 27 in an NSIC double-header. BSU earned the sweep with 2-1 and 11-3 victories over UMC.
Stacey Marcum (P, 5-7, So, Merrill, Wis.) led the Golden Eagles on the afternoon with a .500 (3-6) batting average. She had one RBI, four assists and a 1.000 fielding percentage. On the pitcher's rubber, she threw seven innings, giving up three hits, two runs while striking out two BSU batters.
Steph Thomas (P, 5-9, Sr, St. Albert, Alberta),
Erin Fowle (P, 5-8, So, Winnipeg, Manitoba) and
Rachel Schoenborn (2B, 5-4, Fr, Anchorage, Alaska) followed Marcum with two hits each. Thomas added a homerun in game two and finished with an .833 slugging percentage.
The Golden Eagles travel to Northern State University on Thursday, April 28 for another non-conference double-header. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
