(Titusville, Fla.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Softball team finished day three of the Cocoa Expo with a split and is currently 3-3 through six games. The Golden Eagles fell today to Huntington University 3-0 before defeating Greenville College 6-3.
Kayla Bowar (SS, 5-4, Sr, Moorhead, Minn.) and
Sarena Diederichs (C, 5-8, Sr, St. Cloud, Minn.) led the Golden Eagles at the plate today as both batted .500. Bowar added a double and two RBI while Diederichs scored one run and stole one base.
Paige Schaust (OF, 5-7, Fr, Delano, Minn.) went 2-5 (.400). She scored one run and stole one base. UMC as a team combined for 13 hits and were a perfect 7-7 in stolen bases.
Steph Thomas (P/DP, 5-9, Sr, St. Albert, Alberta) earned the victory over Greenville College throwing six innings, giving up three hits, no runs and striking out five batters.
Minnesota, Crookston is 4-6 overall this season. The team returns to the field tomorrow to play Fisher College and Huntington University. Game times are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. respectively.
