Golden Eagle Softball Falls to St. Cloud and MSU Moorhead in Final Two Games of Husky Dome Invite

(St. Cloud, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Softball team closed out the 2011 Husky Dome Invite on Sunday with contests against St. Cloud State and MSU Moorhead. The Golden Eagles left six runners on against the Huskies and 10 runners on against the Dragons in 6-2 and 6-1 losses.

Leading the way for the Golden Eagles in the final two games was freshman Rachel Schoenborn (2B, 5-4, Fr, Anchorage, Alaska) who batted .429 (3-7) with one double and one RBI. She earned a slugging percentage of .571 and defensively tallied five putouts and four assists. Steph Thomas (P/DP, 5-9, Sr, St. Albert, Alberta) followed Schoenborn with a .400 batting average.

UMC returns to the field on March 12-16 when they take part in the Cocoa Expo in Titusville, Fla.
