Crookston, Minn. - The Men's Cross Country team is heading to Minneapolis for the Roy Griak Invitational. They are fresh off of a great showing at the Augustana Twilight, finishing 12th out of 33 competing teams. It was the most teams they have ever defeated in a race with 21, they were the fourth NSIC team just behind the University of Jamestown, Minnesota State University, and Augustana University.

Kohen Holcomb (So., Marshall, Minn.) was the first Golden Eagle to cross the finish line at the Augustana Twilight, finishing with a time of 15:44.6, a personal 5K record and placing 47th. Aaden Nauman (Jr., Windom, Minn.) was the other top 100 finisher for the Golden Eagles, he finished 79th with a time of 16:05.9. Martin Kuac (Fr., Surrey, British Columbia) was the third Golden Eagle to finish, he posted a time of 16:29.0 in his collegiate debut. Next up for the Golden Eagles was Taylor Johnson (R-Jr., Lake Park, Minn.) with a time of 16:45.9. Rounding out the top five for the Golden Eagles was Carter Flatau (So., Perham, Minn.) with a time of 16:50.1 in his Minnesota Crookston debut.Â

The Golden Eagles will now head to the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, they finished 11th out of 24 competing teams in 2025, a number they will look to beat this season. Their race will take place at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, September 18th. It will be one of three races left on the schedule before the team heads back to Sioux Falls for the NSIC Championship in early November.
