Minneapolis, Minn. - The men's cross country team has their first top 10 at the Roy Griak Invitational in program history, finishing 10th of the 18 teams competing. The Golden Eagles now have two top 12 finishes to start the season, a great start with just two regular season meets left.
Kohen Holcomb (So., Marshall, Minn.) was the first Golden Eagle to cross the finish line with a time of 25:51, which is a new personal record. Aaden Nauman (Jr., Windom, Minn.) was next for the Golden Eagles, coming in at 26:06, Riley Hanson (R-Sr., Farmington, Minn.) finished with a time of 26:25, Taylor Johnson (R-Jr., Lake Park, Minn.) was next with a time of 26:33. Reid Wokasch (Fr., Perham, Minn.) was the next Golden Eagle, right behind Johnson, with a time of 26:35, which is the new school record for an 8k by a freshman. Martin Kuac (Fr., Surrey, British Columbia) set his personal record at 26:51. Carter Flatau (So., Perham, Minn.) has a new personal record of 27:11 and Peter Newark (Fr., Battle Lake, Minn.) set his personal record with a final time of 27:41.
The Golden Eagles have two weeks before their next race when they head to Jamestown for the Jimmie Invitational. It will be one of two races left in the season before they head to the NSIC Championship. The Golden Eagles will look to continue their strong season on October 2nd.
