Crookston, Minn. - The Golden Eagles are heading to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to kickoff the season with the Augustana Twilight. The men's meet will begin at 9:15 p.m. this Friday, September 4th. The Golden Eagles had their highest Augustana Twilight finish last season, finishing 12th out of 25 teams. The Golden Eagles also set a program record for their four mile time at 20:32.

Four returning members of the Golden Eagles set personal four mile records. Riley Hanson (R-Sr., Farmington, Minn.) finished with a time of 20:36, Zach Hanson (R-Sr., Farmington, Minn.) finished with a time of 21:00, Chase Werner (Jr., Marshall, Minn.) with a final time of 21:26, and Lane Hoefs (Sr., Wadena, Minn.) who came in at 21:59. The Golden Eagles had a great season in 2025, and they will look to have an even better 2026. They bolster a strong roster with nine returning runners and four newcomers. Of the returners, there are three seniors, three juniors, and three sophomores. As for the newcomers, it will be one sophomore and three freshmen. Carter Flatau (So., Perham, Minn.) is the lone sophomore amongst the newcomers, transferring to the University of Minnesota Crookston after spending his freshman year at Northern State.

Head Coach Steve Krouse and new Assistant Coach Jakob Hanna will look to lead the team to new heights this season, and it all starts with the Augustana Twilight this Friday. It is a big season for the Golden Eagles, who will now look to continue showing growth off of last season.
