Minnesota Crookston Equestrian Has Several Honored by ECAC

CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston took home several Eastern College Athletic Conference postseason awards after the conclusion of the 2025-26 ECAC season. Emma Mutnansky (So., Cass Lake, Minn.) capped off an outstanding season by being named ECAC Horsemanship Rider of the Year. In addition, Julianne Lurie (Fr., Seminole, Fla.) was named the ECAC Freshman Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Year.

In addition to Mutnansky and Lurie, Mutnansky was named All-ECAC in Horsemanship. Maggie Lawler (Fr., Algonquin, Ill.) was selected All-ECAC in Equitation on the Flat. Lurie earned All-ECAC in Equitation over Fences, while Brooke Hoven (Sr., Ankeny, Iowa) earned the ECAC Sportsmanship Award.

Lawler was named to the ECAC All-Tournament Team after going 1-0 in the tournament with an MOP and a program-record score of 87.5. Allison Patron (Fr., Bend, Ore.) earned ECAC All-Tournament Team in Reining with an MOP and the highest reining score of all three rounds of the tournament.

Mutnansky had a 6-2 mark in NCEA competition, with three MOP honors, and an average score of 75.9 in Horsemanship. She was ECAC Horsemanship Rider of the Year and was named ECAC All-Conference. Mutnansky was a three-time ECAC Horsemanship Rider of the Week and the October ECAC Horsemanship Rider of the Month.

Lawler had an outstanding freshman season in Flat. She had a career-best month in February, earning two MOP honors and ECAC Flat Rider of the Month. Lawler earned Flat Rider of the Week and Fences Rider of the Week accolades in February. She had five MOP accolades overall. Lawler picked up six wins in Flat as a freshman. She was ECAC All-Tournament in Fences and ECAC All-Conference in Flat.

Lurie posted six wins as a freshman in Fences for the Golden Eagles, as she had a strong debut for the Golden Eagles. Lurie recorded an 82 in fences against Sewanee. In addition, she tallied an 80 versus UC-Davis, and a high of 83 as she won her point against Fresno State. 

Kristen Borchert, Belle Syrett, Hoven, and Siara Mosby were ECAC All-Academic First Team. Mutnanskywas ECAC All-Academic Second Team. Borchert, Madison Brown (So., South Haven, Minn.), Kianna Dolezal (Jr., Silver Lake, Minn.), Kaitlyn Cleland (Northfield, Minn.), Jane Droll (Jr., Highland Park, Ill.), Sophie Gustafson (Jr., Sleepy Eye, Minn.), Alexis Heaton (Jr., Frazee, Minn.), Hoven, Jayci Lawrence (So., West Fargo, N.D.), Mosby,  Mutnansky, Eleanor Pettitt (Jr., Minnetrista, Minn.), Hailey Schlotfeldt (Sr., Luverne, N.D.), Syrett, and Jenna Seibert (Sr., Sebeka, Minn.) were named to the ECAC Honor Roll.
