CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston equestrian team is set to commence the 2026 ECAC Equestrian Championships Thursday, March 26 at 9:15 AM C.T. at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington, Del. The Golden Eagles are the five-seed and take on four-seed Delaware State.
Minnesota Crookston has a 1-7 mark in their first season solely competing in the NCEA and ECAC. The Golden Eagles are coming off their first-ever NCEA win February 21 with a 10-6 victory over the Hornets. This will mark their third time facing Delaware State. The Golden Eagles fell to the Hornets 13-6 September 6 and won 10-6 in February.
The Golden Eagles were led by February ECAC Flat Rider of the Month Maggie Lawler (Fr., Algonquin, Ill.), who earned a MOP honor against the Hornets in February. She also picked up a win in Fences over Delaware State. Julianne Lurie (Fr., Seminole, Fla.) earned a 76-74 victory in Fences against DSU. Belle Syrett (Jr., Winnipeg, Manitoba) picked up a 75-73 win. Lurie also picked up a 77-75 win in Flat.
In Horsemanship, Emma Mutnansky (So., Cass Lake, Minn.), who earned ECAC Horsemanship Rider of the Week and Rider of the Month honors this fall, picked up a win against the Hornets last time out. McKenna Hooyer (Jr., Rock Rapids, Iowa) had her highest point total of the season against Delaware State.
In Reining, Allison Patron (Fr., Bend, Ore.) took a MOP honor against the Hornets. Patron had her highest score of the season. Siara Mosby (So., Bremerton, Wash.) picked up a win in Reining, as did Hooyer.
The winner of Thursday's meet advances to face UC Davis Friday at 8 a.m. C.T.
