DANBURY, Conn. - University of Minnesota Crookston equestrian rider Maggie Lawler (Fr., Algonquin, Ill.) was named the ECAC Flat Rider of the Month for February. She joins Emma Mutnansky (So., Cass Lake, Minn.), who was the ECAC Horsemanship Rider of the Month for October, as Golden Eagles to earn conference monthly accolades.
Freshman Maggie Lawler had a career-best month in February, accomplishing a 3-1 record. Lawler started off the month with a bang, earning a UMN Crookston program record and career high score of 93 to defeat her UC Davis opponent's 79, earning her first of two MOP honors in the event this month. At Tennessee-Martin, Lawler defeated her Delaware State opponent 79-72 to earn her second MOP honors of the month and help UMN Crookston take the event 3-1, and then followed up that performance with a 79-76 win over Tennessee-Martin. Lawler averaged a score of 81 on the flat this month.
Anna Donovan of UC Davis was the Fences Rider of the Month, Kaitlyn Veal of UT Martin was the Horsemanship Rider of the Month, and Abby Tibbits of UT Martin was the Reining Rider of the Month.
