Aberdeen, S.D. -- Freshmen Spencer Swenson (Fr., F, Sauk Rapids, Minn.) and Donez Lindsey (Fr., G, Stockton, Calif.) combined for 46 points on Thursday night, but it wasn't enough as Northern State made plays late for a 78-71 win, sweeping the season series.

The Golden Eagles would start fast, as Swenson and Lindsey would get their night started early with a pair of field goals.
Midway through the half, NSU would take a four point advantage, but Swenson would answer with his only three of the night.
Later, Lindsey would go on a personal 8-0 run, helping the Golden Eagles to a 30-23 advantage with less than seven minutes to play in the half.
NSU would end the half on a 16-7 run to take a two point lead heading into the halftime break.
Early in the second half, NSU would stretch their lead to seven, but Swenson would answer with a layup and Brady Westphal (Fr., G, West Fargo, N.D.) would bury a three to cut the lead to just two.
Westphal would bury another three to cut the Wolves lead to just one, but NSU would answer with a 6-0 run to stretch their lead back to seven.
Trailing 65-59, the Golden Eagles would dig in defensively and score four straight points on layups from Swenson and J.D. Roberts (Jr., G/F, Parkville, Mo.) would cut the lead to just two.
Northern State would make plays down the stretch and pull away for the home win by seven.
Lindsey finished the night with 24 points and eight rebounds, while Swenson added 20 and also pulled down eight rebounds. Westphal was the next highest scorer with six, while Roberts added five and a trio of Golden Eagles finished with four.
Minnesota Crookston shot 48.3 percent from the floor, but was just 7-13 from the free throw line in the game.
Minnesota Crookston will head to Jamestown on Saturday to take on the Jimmies for a 3 PM tip.
