CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston equestrian program will open the 2025-26 season this weekend with two meets in Felton, Del. The Golden Eagles will have their first season in 2025-26 competing exclusively in the NCEA. Minnesota Crookston faces Delaware State at 10 a.m. C.T., Friday, September 26 at the Dovington Training Center. The Golden Eagles will take on the University of Sewanee Friday for the first time in program history.
The Golden Eagles competed against Delaware State twice during the 2024-25 season, falling 12-4 in Davis, Calif., and 15-4 in Felton, Del. Minnesota Crookston has faced the Hornets five times with an 0-5 mark.
Minnesota Crookston has a young roster during the 2025-26 season. The Golden Eagles return Belle Syrett (Winnipeg, Manitoba) who posted a high score of 83 in Fences at UC-Davis last season. Syrett notched a high of 81 at Auburn in Flat. Kristen Borchert returns after posting a high of 84 in Fences at UT-Martin, and 75 in Flat at Auburn. Emma Mutnansky (So., Cass Lake, Minn.) is back after a strong debut season in 2024-25. Mutnansky had a 75.5 in Horsemanship against Delaware State.
The Golden Eagles brought in several newcomers for the 2025-26 season including South Dakota State University transfer McKenna Hooyer (Jr., Rock Rapids, Iowa), and freshmen Maggie Lawler (Fr., Algonquin, Ill.), Julianne Lurie (Fr., Seminole, Fla.), Ryann Mitchell (Fr., Camano Island, Wash.), Allison Patron (Fr., Bend, Ore.), Addison Pike (Fr., Grand Haven, Mich.), Brianna Thoeny (Ogilvie, Minn.), and Anna Rajski (Fr., Barrington, Ill.).
