HUDSON, Wis. - The University of Minnesota Crookston women's golf team is in a tie for eighth of 14 teams at the MSU/CSP Fall Brawl at Troy Burne Golf Course in Hudson, Wis. The Golden Eagles shot an opening round 325 Monday, September 15.
Minnesota Crookston is tied with Southwest Minnesota State at 41-over-par. They lead St. Catherine's University, the University of Jamestown, Upper Iowa University, Bemidji State University, and Minot State University. They trail the University of Sioux Falls, and Concordia University-St. Paul by two strokes.
Emma Pierson (Fr., Cherry Valley, Ill.) continues her strong start to her collegiate career. The newcomer shot a five-over-par 76 to sit tied for 11th. Ainsley McLain (Jr., Grafton, N.D.) carded an 81 to sit in 27th. Lauren Bowyer (Sr., Ivanhoe, Minn.), and Anaka Lysne (Sr., Wahpeton, N.D.) each opened with 84's. Libby Dulmage (Jr., Leeds, N.D.) shot a 94.
Minnesota State University leads the tournament after round one. Emerson Garlie shot a 71 for Minnesota State to lead the individuals. The Golden Eagles conclude the MSP/CSU Fall Brawl Tuesday, September 16.
