BROOKINGS, S.D. - The University of Minnesota Crookston equestrian team tied their most points during the NCEA season with an 11-6 loss at South Dakota State University Saturday, March 8 at DeHaan Equestrian Center. The six points tied their performances against the University of South Carolina (Sept. 28), and UT-Martin (February 7).
The Golden Eagles picked up an MOP in Horsemanship from Emma Mutnansky (Fr., Cass Lake, Minn.) in a 74.5-73 win over Anna Minich on Marley.
Minnesota Crookston picked up a point in Fences with a 77-74 victory for Kaylynn Berry (Fr., Louisville, Ky.) on Vita against Isabelle Malick. Kristen Borchert earned a 78-78 tie on Charlie. Belle Syrett (So., Winnipeg, Manitoba) scored a 74, while Alexandra Wentland (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) posted a 73.
In Flat, Wentland posted her highest score of the season, and the team's highest tally of the year with an 80 in a victory over Kendyl Rudolf on Mia. Borchert picked up a point in Flat with a 63-55 victory on Harrison against Sierra Elliott.
Minnesota Crookston notched strong performances in Horsemanship. Mutnansky picked up the MOP with her victory. Ava Jo Glenn (So., Ennis, Texas) earned a 73-70.5 win on Snoop. Madison Wojcek (So., Bremerton, Wash.) earned a 73-73 tie on Ranger.
In Reining, Madison Wachtel (So., Wells, Nev.) notched a 69.5-69 win on Jessie over Adisyn Kuxhaus. Hailey Hanson (Fr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) had a score of 69, while Samantha Lyons (Fr., Lisbon, N.D.) scored 68.5.
Minnesota Crookston competes at the ECAC Championships March 27-29 in Martin, Tenn.
