MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston equestrian team had a program-best score in NCEA competition with nine points, as they fell narrowly 11-9 to South Dakota State University in the first round of the ECAC Championship Thursday, March 27 at Ned McWherter Agricultural Campus in Martin. Tenn.
The Golden Eagles were strong in Horsemanship, winning their fourth straight Horsemanship set of the 2024-25 season. Ava Jo Glenn (So., Ennis, Texas) picked up the Most Outstanding Performer honor in Horsemanship with a 74.5 on Hank. Emma Mutnansky (Fr., Cass Lake, Minn.) earned a victory on Mo, while Hailey Hanson (Fr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) earned a victory on Lance.
Minnesota Crookston picked up their first Reining set of the season, out-scoring SDSU 4-1. Madison Wojcek (So., Bremerton, Wash.) scored 65.75 on Tia to earn the victory. Marley Halse (So., Mountlake Terrace, Wash.) earned a win on Duke. Samantha Lyons (Fr., Lisbon, N.D.) picked up a victory on Yeti. Madison Wachtel (So., Wells, Nev.) notched a win on Sarge.
Kristen Borchert (Jr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) took a victory on Pearl, while Alexandra Wentland (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) picked up a victory on JJ.
