FRESNO, Calif. - The University of Minnesota Crookston opened the 2025 portion of their NCEA schedule at Fresno State University Thursday, November 23 at the Student Horse Center in Fresno. The final tally was 18-2.
Minnesota Crookston had their best showing in Horsemanship. Emma Mutnansky (Fr., Cass Lake, Minn.) picked up a 72.5-69.5 victory on Chip. Madison Wojcek (So., Bremerton, Wash.) earned a victory, and the point, in a 71-69.5 ride on Flynn. Ava Jo Glenn (So., Ennis, Texas) also had a great ride, narrowly falling 74-71 on Reece.
In Reining, Samantha Lyons (Fr., Lisbon, N.D.) put up a strong showing, falling just 71.5-71.0 on Fabio. Lyons ride Thursday was her best score of the 2024-25 season in Reining. Hailey Hanson (Fr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) fell narrowly 71.0-70.0. Madison Wojcek was also narrowly upended 72-70.0 on Sam. Marley Halse tied her best showing of the season with a score of 69.5, while Madison Wachtel (So., Wells, Nev.) also narrowly fell with a score of 67.0.
In Fences, Kristen Borchert (Jr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) made her debut in NCEA this season with a high score for the team of 78. Kaylynn Berry (Fr., Louisville, Ky.) tallied a 76, while Belle Syrett (So., Winnipeg, Manitoba) scored a 74.
In Flat, Syrett had the high score for Minnesota Crookston with a 70. Borchert notched a 68, while Berry tied her high with a score of 67.
The Golden Eagles will face Delaware State and UC-Davis Saturday, January 25 in Davis, Calif.
